HBC Group strengthens its presence in the DACH region and focuses on regional expertise, digitalization, and partnership.
The HBC Group, one of the leading insurance brokerage groups in the German-speaking region, continues to grow: With the acquisition of the Austrian company UMBERIO GmbH and four other regionally based brokerage firms, HBC has reached another strategic milestone in its expansion in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
In addition to UMBERIO, the acquisition includes the following companies:
- Schwentner & Partner GmbH
- Woglar GmbH
- Lederer GmbH
- Jaegerhofer GmbH
The merger brings together strong partners who share the same vision—to strengthen brokerage firms in the long term, facilitate access to modern solutions, and combine regional identity with digital progress.
Gert Schlossmacher, CEO of the HBC Group, says: “With UMBERIO, we are gaining a group that impresses not only with its comprehensive network and innovative strength, but above all with its attitude: cooperative, down-to-earth, and future-oriented. Our DACH strategy aims to combine local strength with an international perspective.”
UMBERIO is a prime example of how regionalism and modern processes go hand in hand.

“We look forward to working with the UMBERIO team and its affiliated partner companies to further develop the Austrian market and establish the HBC brand as a reliable partner here too,” emphasizes Gert Schlossmacher.
Gerald Schwentner, Managing Director at UMBERIO and Schwentner & Partner, is delighted: “In HBC, we have found a partner who shares our values and understands our vision. Together, we intend to actively shape the future of the Austrian brokerage market—close to our customers, innovative, and with a clear stance.”
With the integration of UMBERIO and the four affiliated brokerage firms, HBC is not only strengthening its presence in Austria, but also laying the foundation for even closer cooperation within the DACH region. The goal: a strong, networked platform for brokerage firms that combines regional roots with international strength.
